Burial and Book of the Dead

The pharaohs were buried in a sarcophagus, which was carved out of limestone and decorated and lined with gold. When the pharaoh was buried, they were buried with the Book of the Dead. This book was made up of two hundred spells for the pharaoh in the Afterlife. Most of the pharaohs were buried with linen, gold, amulets, and the Book of the Dead so everyone knew they were rich and important. To me, I don't think it mattered if you were pharaoh or not. Even though they were a higher in power, that doesn't mean they were actually more importanat than everybody else in Ancient Egypt.

  1. That was some really great information, it must have taken a long time to research it. Was there ONLY 200 spells in the book of the dead or where there more? Was the book of the dead writen in heiroglyphics?
