??? Similarities ???

I think there are a few similarities between Heaven and the Underworld. One of my thoughts are that they both are connected to the Afterlife when someone dies.
The Underworld and Heaven both have a Judgement Hall for when someone dies and is going to relive their life. When a person dies, they have a funeral, and that is another similarity between the two worlds. People also believe in hell when they go to the Underworld and Heaven and that is not a place anyone wants to go.
To me, there are more differences though, than similarities. some of them are; that Heaven is a place for the saved only, only one GOD, angels, and no sin. The Underworld is a place for the sinners, multiple gods, and you can have sin.

Burial and Book of the Dead

The pharaohs were buried in a sarcophagus, which was carved out of limestone and decorated and lined with gold. When the pharaoh was buried, they were buried with the Book of the Dead. This book was made up of two hundred spells for the pharaoh in the Afterlife. Most of the pharaohs were buried with linen, gold, amulets, and the Book of the Dead so everyone knew they were rich and important. To me, I don't think it mattered if you were pharaoh or not. Even though they were a higher in power, that doesn't mean they were actually more importanat than everybody else in Ancient Egypt.

'King of the Dead'

Osiris was murdered by his own brother, Seth. If I was murdered by my brother, ain't no tellin' what would happen to him. Osiris's body was dismembered, and scattered, but Isis, his wife/sister reunited his limbs. MAGIC! Osiris then became King and Judge of the Underworld. I think that Seth was very jealous because Osiris got Isis and he didn't. It seems to me like Osiris should have been the God of gettin girls, and Seth should have been God of the Underworld.

I Want My Mummy!!!

When a person died, their soul went to the Afterlife. They met the king of Death face-to-face. Their heart was placed on a balance and weighed against the Feather of Truth.I thought that if the heart was weighed against a feather, that it would weigh more because it's a HEART! Duhhhh. If their heart was equal with the feather, they were said to have spoken truly throughout their life. If the heart weighed more than the feeather, it was eaten by the Devourer(head of a crocodile, body of a lion, and rear end of a hippo). Why does it gotta have a lion's front and a hippo's rear? I mean, really? They could have put a monkey's front and a crocodile's end with the monkey holdin' a banana!

In the Beginning.......

The dead were expected to be reborn in the Afterlife, so they think their God Osiris made up this world for their spirits to live again after they die. When I was researching this part, one sentence caught my eye. It said: for their spirits to live again. This made me think of heaven and how most of us want to go there someday. At first I thought, how can their spirits reborn or come back alive but then it's like when you go to heaven, your spirit will be reborn, and there will be no pain or suffering just like in the Underworld. They have a god that they serve for the Underworld(Afterlife) just like we do in heaven. It's like two worlds that are different, but the same.
